Air quality dashboard · React, Open-Meteo API

A React application that turns environmental data into clear, interactive web tools. It fetches live air quality data from the Open-Meteo API and presents it three ways: a dashboard, a forecast chart, and an interactive map.

What it does

Dashboard. The current European AQI per city, with the band colour changing with severity, so the number is readable before it is read.

Forecast. A 48-hour particulate matter forecast, rendered as an area chart.

Map. Australian cities plotted and colour-coded, with detail on hover.

What I had to solve

Real API integration, with nothing hardcoded. Parallel requests across cities, fetched concurrently rather than in sequence. Loading and error states, because a dashboard that shows nothing while it thinks is a dashboard people close. And one colour scale shared across the dashboard, the chart and the map, so severity means the same thing everywhere.
